Trip to Kansas - Monday

On Monday after a busy weekend at the dog show we decided to meet up with my friend Dawn and her little boy Logan who was born just a few weeks before Ryan.

I figured the best place to go was back to the Farmstead so the big guys could run off some energy. I had a great time talking to Dawn and the big kids were worn out. Definitely a successful day!

Somehow I managed to not get a picture of Dawn and Logan or the two little boys together. I guess that's what happens when you are trying to keep track of the big guys and take pictures.

Saturday and Sunday - Exploring the dog show!

On Saturday and Sunday I took the kids to the dog show. Sarah was a little overwhelmed by all the noise and people, but she thought the smaller dogs were hilarious. Drew's favorite place to play was in the dog crates and both were happy to hang out on a grooming table and watch the action.

Trip to Kansas Continued - Thursday

After making the drive on Wednesday we wanted a relaxing day so the kids and I met my brother Scott, his wife Jen and their kids at Deanna Rose Farmstead. It is an awesome place that is part park, part petting zoo and best of all FREE! If we lived in Kansas City we would be there all the time.

Drew and his cousin Dakota had a great time feeding the goats, running around on the playground, and fishing. Sarah and Brianna enjoyed looking at all the animals and watching their brothers run around. Ryan was an angel and slept through most of our time there!

After wearing the kids out at the Farmstead we headed out to the mall to do a little shopping at the Carter's store that Jen works at. Scott was nice enough to take the big boys to the playground while Jen and I spent all our money in Carters.

Our Trip to Kansas

In mid May I got the crazy idea to take all three kids to Kansas by myself for a week. So I packed up the kids and off we went. Amazingly the trip up there was really easy and the kids did great. We left around 4 am and the kids fell back asleep in the car after about an hour and then slept off and on all day. We only had to stop about every three hours for gas, potty breaks and to feed Ryan. I planned on the normal 11.5 hour trip taking us closer 14 after some longer stops, but the kids were great and we only made quick stops and made it to Kansas in 12 hours! More about our trip in the next couple of posts.

Nothing better than 3 sleeping kids - I didn't want to stop but it was either stop and take the chance of the kids waking up or run out of gas.
